Want to get away from the queues and chaos of sport climbing? This 3 day course gives you the lowdown on the art of single pitch traditional climbing (using removable gear like cams and wires), from gear selection and placement to belaying, anchor set-up and advanced safety tips.
We are absolutely thrilled and full of psych to announce another series of ClimbingQTs outdoor climbing courses delivered through our good pals at the Blue Mountains Climbing School!
Designed and run specifically for ClimbingQTs members, this 3-day Intro to Traditional Climbing Course will teach you to access, lead, and belay trad climbs. Learn how to place, assess, and remove trad gear, and build and inspect beautiful trad anchors. In order to get the most out of it, you’ll need skills in line with the completion of:
Indoor to Outdoor Conversion (Introduction to Single Pitch Sport Lead Climbing)
Multi-Pitch Climbing (such as BMCS’s multi-pitch course)
Your instructor will call you before the course to ask you about your experience, interests, abilities and aspirations and make sure that this course is the right one for you. Please contact the Blue Mountains Climbing School if you are close but don’t quite have the prerequisites – we can potentially look at a bridging day in the lead up to the Trad course
