Learn the ropes and take your climbing outside on this course that teaches you to lead single pitch outdoor sport climbs.
We are absolutely thrilled and full of psych to announce another series of ClimbingQTs outdoor climbing courses delivered through our good pals at the Blue Mountains Climbing School!
This 2-day Learn to Lead Sport outdoors (indoor to outdoor conversion) course will teach you techniques and safety for lead climbing outdoors on single pitch sports routes. Learn how to lead climb, lead belay, and clean a route. Your guides will show you how to assess bolts and other fixed gear, and take you through common challenges of outdoor sport climbing and how to avoid or solve them.
This course focuses on technical roping skills so you don’t have to crank or climb a certain grade in order to sign up. Your instructors will talk to you before the course to get a sense of what level you are climbing at, and will tailor the course and climbs accordingly.
However, we find people get the most out of this if they have been outdoor climbing before (eg have done our Introduction to Outdoor Climbing Course), or have been top rope climbing or leading in the gym for a while.
