ClimbingQTs is coming to WA and TAS in 2024!

Not only are ClimbingQTs once again crossing colonial state borders but we’re also crossing the sea!

In 2024 we’re shouting out a big welcome to new ClimbingQTs family members Lutruwita (TAS) and Whadjuk Noongar (WA) ClimbingQTs!

With the recent opening of a new bouldering gym in Lutruwita (Hobart), we have joined forces with Rock It Climbing and The North Face to bring our monthly meetups to Tassie, kicking off with a Jan 12th, 2024 launch date at  Rock It Derwent Park. Keep and eye out for further details.

As for our budding QTs in WA, we are excited to be working with the wonderful Rock Wallabies to bring you weekly meetups for the rest of 2023 before shifting to more regular twice monthly meetups in 2024!

We’re excited to see what the new WA and TAS ClimbingQTs get up to as they work to make sure facilities, competitions, community events and policies have LGBTQ+ climbers in mind and that everyone has equitable access to enjoy everything we love about rock climbing.

Want to join either our TAS or WA ClimbingQTs? Need more info? Check out the membership page on our website and join the Discord!

We acknowledge the Palawa people of Lutruwita, who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our TAS ClimbingQTs will gather, as well as acknowledge the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation where our WA ClimbingQTs will gather. gather today. As Indigenous and Non-Indigenous people together we have a sense of the importance of the country upon which we stand, climb and explore. Let us sense the land beneath our feet and acknowledge to whom it belongs and pay our respects to these nation’s elders and all elders, past, present, and future.
